This 8days western Uganda wildlife safari gives you the highlights of Uganda. On this safari you’ll go for game-drives on the savannas in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park as well as go trekking chimps in Kibale forest and Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable National Park. Tour Plan
Day 1 : Pick up & Afternoon Shoebill Tour At Mabamba Swamp
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your guide for pickup. Transfer directly to Mabamba Swamp for an exciting afternoon Shoebill tour. Enjoy a guided canoe ride through the swamp's papyrus channels, searching for the rare Shoebill stork and other unique bird species. The tour lasts about 2–3 hours. After birding, depart Mabamba around 5:30 PM and drive to your hotel for check-in and overnight.
Day 2 : Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, enjoying scenic views of Uganda’s countryside and tea plantations. Arrive in time for lunch, then proceed to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for an afternoon guided nature walk. Explore the rich biodiversity of the wetland, spotting monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. After the walk, transfer to your lodge near Kibale Forest. Check in, relax, and enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3 : Chimpanzee Trekking Experience And Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for a thrilling chimpanzee trekking experience. Hike through the forest with expert guides to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat, along with other primates and bird species. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch, then begin the scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at the lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner and overnight in the park.
Day 4 : Morning Game Drive And Afternoon Boat Cruise
Start your day with a relaxed morning and a delicious breakfast before heading out on a thrilling morning game drive through the savannah. After an exciting wildlife adventure, return to the lodge for a scenic picnic lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat ride along the famous Kazinga Channel—spot elephants grazing by the water, hippos wallowing, crocodiles sunbathing, and a wide variety of bird species. As the sun sets, watch buffaloes roam the golden plains, creating the perfect safari moment. Return to the lodge for a warm dinner and a restful overnight stay. Day 5 : Transfer to Bwindi NP
Start your journey through scenic highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. As you wind through misty hills and lush valleys, your guide shares tales of the forest’s secrets. Arrive at your lodge, nestled near gorilla territory, and unwind with serene mountain views.
Rest well—tomorrow, you’ll trek majestic mountain gorillas and dive into the Batwa people’s rich heritage, a day of heart-pounding adventure and soul-stirring culture.

Day 6 : Gorilla trekking & Batwa cultural visits

Awake to the whispers of Bwindi’s ancient forest. After a hearty breakfast, your guide escorts you to the park headquarters for a briefing, meet rangers, learn gorilla etiquette, and feel the adrenaline rise! Then, embark on a heart-pounding trek through misty, vine-draped trails. When you lock eyes with a majestic silverback or playful juveniles, time stops, this is your magical moment with Earth’s gentle giants. The whole activity takes around 6 hours, with one full hour with gorillas.
Return to the lodge, savor a gourmet lunch, and relax with panoramic mountain views. As dusk paints the sky, dive into the Batwa Cultural Experience, sing, dance, and learn ancient forest survival skills from Uganda’s indigenous “Keepers of the Jungle.”

Day 7 : Transfer to lake Mburo NP

After a peaceful night, savor a hearty breakfast and embark on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Wind through rolling hills, tea plantations, banana plantations, and beautiful towns like Bushenyi and Mbarara, pause to snap photos of Ankole longhorn cattle or chat with local artisans.
Stop at the iconic Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch, where you’ll taste authentic Ugandan flavors and explore exhibits on Ankole heritage. Then, continue to your lodge, nestled in the heart of the park, where zebras and impalas roam freely at your doorstep then set off on a captivating afternoon/evening game drive in Lake Mburo NP. Spot zebras grazing, impalas leaping, and hippos basking in golden light, one final embrace of Africa’s untamed beauty.
Day 8 : Morning guided nature walk and transfer to Entebbe (220km drive in 5-6 hours

Savor your last Ugandan sunrise with a leisurely breakfast, then guided nature walk with a game ranger. Spot giraffes stealthily prowling, long horned cattle grazing together with zebras, see how a community lives in harmony along with nature and herds of eland glowing golden in the twilight.
