On Day 1, start with an early morning check-in at Entebbe International Airport for your domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip, departing around 7:45 AM and arriving by 9:00 AM. Upon arrival, meet your driver for a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour transfer to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check in at your lodge, enjoy a welcome drink, and relax. After lunch, you may choose to rest or take part in optional activities like a village walk or local market visit. In the evening, have dinner at the lodge and receive a pre-trek briefing if you are scheduled for gorilla trekking the following day. Spend the night at the lodge, immersed in the tranquil sounds of the forest.

Today is the main event… Get ready for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare mountain gorilla. For most visitors, this is the absolute highlight of their Uganda tour.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees the only forest in Africa that can claim this distinction. It also hosts five other primate species, 113 mammal species, over 200 butterflies, and 360 bird species.

The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours! Once you locate the gorillas, your group will have a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face to face with gorillas is so amazing.

After breakfast, check out from your lodge in Bwindi and begin your road transfer back to Kihihi Airstrip, through scenic countryside. Arrive at the airstrip in time for your scheduled domestic flight to Entebbe, Enjoy the aerial views of Uganda’s lush landscape during the 1 hour and 15-minute flight. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, proceed to your next destination or connect with your international flight. This marks the end of your memorable journey in Bwindi.
